Aerial Lyra, Aerial Silks & Hammock Classes Now in North Miami Beach with World Champion Karyna Mykhalina

Something great is happening at Cirque Art Studio in North Miami Beach, and if you have ever dreamed of floating through the air with grace, power, and artistry, this is your moment. Beginning Wednesday, June 10, 2026 Cirque Art Studio is expanding its already celebrated aerial program. Leading our Aerial Lyra, Aerial Silks, and Hammock classes is Karyna Mykhalina, a 5-Time World Champion, 23-Time USA National Champion, and multiple World Record Holder in Pole Sport and Aerial. Karyna is joining the Cirque Art Studio team, bringing a level of expertise that is exceptionally rare to find in a studio setting.

For those who are new to the aerial arts world, Aerial Lyra, also known as aerial hoop, is a circular steel apparatus suspended from the ceiling on which performers execute breathtaking poses, drops, and dynamic movements. Aerial Silks involves climbing, wrapping, and suspending oneself in flowing fabric to create visually stunning figures in the air. Aerial Hammock, sometimes called aerial sling, uses a fabric loop that cradles the body, allowing for deep stretches, inversions, and flowing choreography. Each apparatus offers its own unique physical and artistic language, and together they form one of the most comprehensive aerial offerings in the Miami area.

Meet Your Instructor: World Champion Karyna Mykhalina Brings Elite Aerial Training to North Miami Beach

Karyna Mykhalina’s credentials are the kind that stop you in your tracks. Across her career, she has claimed the title of World Champion five times, stood on the USA National Championship podium 23 times, and set multiple World Records in the demanding disciplines of Pole Sport and Aerial. These are not titles earned in regional competitions but on the global stage, where the world’s most technically precise and artistically refined athletes compete. What makes Karyna an exceptional instructor, beyond the obvious weight of her competitive achievements, is her ability to communicate movement. Athletes and performers of her caliber often possess an intuitive physical intelligence that, when channeled into teaching, accelerates student progress in ways that more conventional instruction cannot. She understands the mechanics of the body in the air, the relationship between strength and surrender that aerial work demands, and the artistic sensitivity that separates technically correct performance from genuinely moving performance.

The new class schedule is designed to offer multiple entry points throughout the week. Aerial Lyra will meet on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM, providing a midweek opportunity to disconnect from the ordinary and reconnect with your body in motion. On Saturdays, the program offers both Aerial Silk and Hammock at 11:00 AM and Aerial Lyra again at 12:30 PM, giving Saturday students the option to build an immersive half-day of aerial training. These sessions are open to all experience levels, from complete beginners who have never left the ground to experienced aerialists looking to refine their technique under world-class guidance.

For those already familiar with Cirque Art Studio’s mixed aerial classes held on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 PM, the new offerings complement the existing program beautifully. The mixed aerial class has been a cornerstone of the studio’s adult curriculum, exposing students to a rotating range of apparatus types and skill sets. The addition of Karyna’s dedicated Lyra, Silks, and Hammock sessions allows students to now go deeper into specific disciplines rather than sampling a broad variety each week, creating a pathway for real skill development and artistic growth.

What to Expect from Aerial Lyra, Silks, and Hammock Classes at Cirque Art Studio

If you are wondering whether aerial arts are right for you, the answer is almost certainly yes, regardless of your current fitness level. Aerial training builds functional strength in the arms, shoulders, and core in ways that conventional gym workouts rarely replicate. It develops spatial awareness and proprioception, the ability to know where your body is in space, which is foundational not only to aerial work but to almost every physical activity you might pursue. It also cultivates flexibility and body control, and perhaps most importantly, it builds confidence. There is something fundamentally transformative about trusting your body to hold you in the air, and Cirque Art Studio’s supportive, encouraging environment makes that trust possible even for first-timers.

Cirque Art Studio has established itself as one of South Florida’s leading destinations for aerial arts, circus skills, contortion, acrobatics, hand balancing, and pole training. Located in North Miami Beach, the studio serves students across the greater Miami metropolitan area who are drawn not only by the quality of instruction but by the community that forms around this kind of training. The studio’s philosophy centers on the idea that circus and aerial arts are for everyone, that mastery is a journey rather than a prerequisite, and that artistry and athleticism are not separate pursuits but deeply intertwined expressions of human potential.

Spaces in Karyna Mykhalina’s new classes are limited, and given the extraordinary nature of this addition to the program, they are expected to fill quickly. This is a genuinely rare opportunity to train in Aerial Lyra, Aerial Silks, and Hammock with one of the most decorated aerialists and pole athletes in the world, in an intimate studio setting where personalized attention is the norm rather than the exception. Whether you are stepping onto an aerial apparatus for the very first time or returning to deepen a practice you already love, these classes represent a significant leap forward for what Cirque Art Studio offers its students and the broader Miami community.

Classes begin Wednesday, June 10th. Check the Cirque Art Studio schedule to see all available sessions and book your spot before they are gone. Come fly with us in North Miami Beach.
